Honoring the Passing of Tom Tosch

We were saddened to hear of the passing of Tom Tosch this past week. Tom had a lifelong passion for math, and he helped to develop this passion in countless others. He worked as a math and statistics teacher at South Seattle Community College and Oregon State University. He also served as a volunteer for before and after school math programs in Washington-area schools. Tom supported the administration and growth of the "Math Is Cool" competitions since 2002. These competitions have engaged thousands of students across Washington state over the years. He also volunteered with Mathlympiad and Mu Alpha Theta.

For all the students, teachers and parents whose lives you touched through math, thank you, Tom! May you rest in peace.
