together.science is part of SNVC!

We’re so excited and honored to have been selected to participate in the SNVC challenge this spring! The Social New Venture Challenge (SNVC) is run by the Rustandy Center for Social Sector Innovation at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, in partnership with the Polsky Center. SNVC provides social entrepreneurship mentorship and funding for startups with a social mission at their core. Since 2011, the SNVC has helped jump-start more than 100 startups that have gone on to raise more than $45 million.

Over the course of ten weeks, we’ll be working on three main goals. First, we’ll be striving to continue to make progress on our social venture, which will include refining together.math, running an alpha test of the product with a small group of test users, and building relationships with partners (advisors, potential investors, etc.) Our next goal will be to refine our business model, which will include engaging in more customer discovery and other research, validating our current model, and further articulating our theory of change and impact measurement strategy. Lastly, we’ll be working on refining the delivery of an effective pitch. This will happen through a great deal of practice delivering the pitch and answering questions and incorporating feedback from judges and experts.

Our hope is to be selected to compete in the final pitch round in June, where teams will be competing for over $100,000 in prize money to help advance the ventures.

Stay tuned for updates!
